About Lori
Hi, I’m a certified personal and professional coach based in Wine Country in Northern California. I serve clients worldwide via Zoom or phone, in English or in French.
My Mission & The Hope for Givers
I believe life—including work—is meant to be an adventure, pushing us to grow, expand and find joy. When we embrace change, authenticity and courageous living, we not only open the doors of possibility for ourselves, but we also give other people permission to do the same.
However, if you are a giver or a pleaser, or a mission-based company of givers, embracing change and courageous choices aren’t easy, particularly because society conditions us to believe that giving should be all about sacrifice and never the self. In workplace cultures where givers are abundant—as in the case with nonprofits, professional caregivers, first responder groups, civic organizations, hospitality businesses, and social impact companies like B-Corps—this same mindset prevents organizations and leaders from growing, innovating, and cultivating retention. Sadly, in both scenarios, givers often finish last, leaving them stressed and anxious, frustrated by unfilled expectations, and in worst-case scenarios, burned out.
For individuals, my mission is to transform the people-pleasing, perfectionism and burnout that comes with giving into lives of freedom, balance and choice.
For organizations, my mission is to transform overworked, reactive, and divided teams into productive, mindful and collaborative cultures.
For those ready to tackle big changes, I promise to challenge you, to cheerlead you every step of the way, and to empower you to think outside the box. Coaching teaches givers that they don’t need to buy into the myth of endless sacrifice; they, too, can thrive, and when they thrive, there’s more for them to give.
My Story
Since early in my career, I’ve had the good fortune to work for passionate, mission-based companies, where standards and ethics were high. I’ve enjoyed some great peak experiences in my career, but also some deep valleys that have resulted in chronic pain and stress, followed by the diagnosis of an autoimmune condition. Needless to say, the American workplace challenged me on all levels.
I came to life, organization and leadership coaching after a 10-year career in artisan wine sales, followed by a 15-year career in content marketing and consulting in the lifestyle sector (notably food and wine, health and wellness, and travel and tourism). Along the way, I’ve worked with CPGs, B-Corps, international businesses, venture capitalists, non-profits, small family businesses, and several start-ups. After decades of telling mission-based brand and leadership stories, I’m most excited to empower individuals and organizations to rewrite their own—particularly for those who think theirs are already set in stone. Today, I work to empower my clients to transform challenging life, career, and business questions, shifts or set-backs into expansive growth opportunities.
I live in Sonoma, California with my husband, John, and dog, Roscoe. When I’m not coaching clients, I’m playing with Roscoe, hiking, reading, writing, traveling, picnicking, and connecting with family and friends.
